Co-hosted by the “1000 Talent” Venture Capital Community and the Association of Thousand Plan Experts, the 1000 Plan Start-up Contest, first launched in 2012, is an annual event that takes place in major global cities with top-tiered startup teams, entrepreneurs, investors and industry experts. By bridging the gaps between capital, market and industry, the contest provides startup companies worldwide with the opportunity to enter and thrive in China with funding, resources, and support in localization.

Backed by some of the most renowned companies and venture capital firms, the contest gathers top-tier entrepreneurs and investors. Led by Mr. Neil Shen (Co-founder, Founding and Managing Partner of Sequoia Capital China) and Mr. Jeffery Zhijie Zeng (Senior Managing Director of CITIC Capital Holdings Limited), the judges consist of business leaders at prestigious institutes such as Northern Light Venture Capital, Oriza Seed Fund, Tsing Capital, Delta Capital etc. (more information available here).

The Silicon Valley Regional Contest, hosted by SVC Venture Club, is calling for applications. Distinguished industry experts and renowned investors from China and the U.S. will join together to judge the contest and provide valuable insights on innovative trends in the Silicon Valley and in China.

Selected teams will be invited to attend the final competition held in China, in October, 2016. Besides funding opportunities, winning teams of the final competition will receive cash rewards, fundraising consulting services and full scholarships for 2017 “Sandlake” Startup Bootcamp. All finalist startups will receive one-on-one mentoring from experienced entrepreneurs and investors, potential funding opportunities offered by 50+ renowned funds, consulting services throughout all localization procedures and free value-added services including resource matching and brand promotion.

The 1000 Plan Start-up Contest is an international event. All startups are encouraged to apply, especially those with an interest in exploring business possibilities in the Chinese market.
